Samsung's top-of-the-line LED TV

An eye-catching picture and built-in network capability

The Samsung UN46B7000 has a depth of just over an inch, making it one of the thinnest HDTVs ever made. But that doesn't mean it slouches in the picture department — this HDTV displays extraordinary high-definition images with realistic colors and fluid motion. Plus, this Internet-ready set lets you connect to your home network to enjoy a variety of online content without getting off the couch.

contrast

In place of a conventional fluorescent backlight, the UN46B7000 uses a series of LEDs. LED backlighting dramatically improves picture contrast, expanding the range of gray tones from absolute black to brilliant white. It also increases the number of available colors — you'll primarily notice deeper reds and greens. Images have tremendous punch and impact, and colors look more nuanced and natural. An LED backlight also doesn't require as much power. In fact, Samsung's 2009 LED HDTVs consume up to 40% less power than last year's conventional LCD sets.

120Hz refresh rate ensures smooth motion

While most HDTVs still use a 60Hz refresh rate, the UN46B7000 doubles it to 120Hz. Together with Samsung's Auto Motion Plus technology, this creates a smoother picture with less motion blur — something you'll definitely appreciate if you watch a lot of action movies or fast-paced sports. You'll also notice that images have a more solid, three-dimensional look.

media

Do much more than watch TV

The UN46B7000 offers a wealth of multimedia entertainment options. A rear-panel Ethernet port makes it easy to use your broadband Internet connection to access Yahoo! Widgets, for services such as Yahoo! News, Flickr, and USA Today. Or, watch your favorite video clips by plugging a thumb drive into the side USB port. If you connect the optional wireless USB adapter, you can enjoy this set's networking capabilities without running an Ethernet cable.

A variety of viewing options

The UN46B7000 provides four HDMI inputs and a component video input for connecting your high-definition gear. These HDMI inputs offer "CEC" control, which lets you operate compatible HDMI-equipped Samsung components using only the TV's remote. So if you keep your components hidden away in a cabinet, you can control them without using a remote repeater system. The versatile component video input doubles as a composite input, ensuring that your standard-definition VCR or camcorder won't be left behind.
